A similar blend of taste can be experienced in the Dakos, which is basically a cretan salad that is made up of a slice of soaked dried bread which is topped with and crumbled fetachopped tomatoes. Some of the other famous and typical Greek appetizers that one might find in any restaurants that offers Greek cuisine are the Fava, Garides, Gavros, Greek salad, Horta, Kolokythakia, kalamarakia, koukies, kolokythoanothoi which is Zucchini flowers that is filled with rice or in some cases cheese and herbs. There are also the fava beans, cabbage salad with finely shredded cabbage with some salt, olive oil, lemon juice and vinegar dressing, croquettes , and maridestiganites which is a deep-fried whitebait, that is typically served with lemon wedges. Some of the other appetizers which are usually hard to come across in most Greek restaurants in cludes the variants in the Melitzanes, the Melitzanosalata, the eggplant salads that are prepared in a manner that resembles the potato salad the pantzarosalata which is basically a beetroot salad that is given a tad bit of olive oil and vinegar, the patatosalata which is a typical potato salad with olive oil with some finely sliced onions,lemon juice or vinegar and mayonnaise. While the aforementioned dishes are the ones that one might not come across quite often even in Greek restaurants there are the popular ones which one just can’‘t miss if they’‘re to have the complete Greek experience when it comes to the cuisine. When it comes to meat and seafood dishes the Greek cuisine offers quite an exquisite choice of dishes that includes the Apaki which is a renowned Cretan specialty that is made out the lean pork, maintained in vinegar. The pork is the smoked in the shrubs and many aromatic herbs, following which it is packed in Salts. The Greek cuisine, like the French is quite rich in its selection of cheese and includes quite a selection of it which includes Feta, Kasseri, Halloumi, Kefalotyri, Kefalograviera, Graviera, Myzithra, Anthotyros, Formaela, Manouri, and Metsovone. To end with, the list of desserts that one finds in the Greek cuisine too is very rich and includes the likes of the pasteli which can be found in a large number of varieties, the finikia, the baklava, the diples and the Halva. The list of mouth-watering desserts that make up for the richness and the popularity of the Greek cuisine amongst both the kids and the adults is quite extensive and a result of long-lasting enhancements and innovations in the food industry. As a result the number of takers to the Greek cuisine has been on the constant rise throughout the world, as more and more people become aware of the exquisite and luscious selection of food items that the Greek cuisine has to offer, the more the cuisine innovates.
