Contrary to popular belief there are many types of burgers other then the hamburgers. They are, veggie burger, die burger, Hamilton burger, grape burger, Gouais blanc, Elbling, Chicken burger. Hamburgers consist of a cooked patty of ground meat (usually beef, but occasionally pork or a combination of meats) usually placed inside a sliced bread roll. They are usually served with tomato, bacon, onion, lettuce pickles, cheese and condiments such as mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup and relish. The name is a derivative of Hamburg, which is one of Germany’‘s largest cities. Numerous people came from Hamburg to the United States and with them came the recipe for dish. Burg, in High German, is a word for fortified settlement or fortified refuge. It is a prevalent constituent of place names. Hamburger is a noun in German and is a reference to someone from Hamburg. It is also an adjective indicating something from Hamburg. Frankfurter and wiener, in a similar way, have names for other meat-based foods which are also used in Germany and Austria as nouns for people and also as adjectives for things from the cities of Frankfurt and Vienna. There are a lot of types of sandwiches that are akin to burgers, owing to the use of varied meats, like the, buffalo burger turkey, kangaroo, venison, elk, salmon burger or veggie burger. Crushed beef was a treasured meat all over Europe and sausages were made in the 15th century from hashed beef. In the 17th century, crew from the harbours of Hamburg in Germany began to go to Russian harbours. During this time, Russian steak tartare was taken back and named "tartare steak". The people who migrated illegally from Germany to the United States brought some recipes along with them. Hamburg Steak was one among them. Cooked and raw regional spices went on to become a common dish among the lower classes as the Germans preferred finely chopped low-grade beef. Hamburger steak was called that way from the city of Hamburg. Nowadays, the hamburger patty is no more called Hamburg Steak in Germany. It is popularly called Frikadelle, Frikandelle or Bulette, which were at first Italian and French words. In the 18th century, the major ports in Europe were in Germany and the sailors who visited the ports of Hamburg, Germany and New York, brought this food and named it as Hamburg steak into frequent usage. Food stalls along the New York harbour raised up hoardings which said steak cooked in the Hamburg style. This was done to attract German travellers. Manual meat cutters were found during the 19th century and mentioning ground beef as hamburger goes back to the invention of meat cutters. Dr. Karl Drais, during the 19th century, found the meat dicer and copyright were also booked for some designs that looked like meat cutters. In the present day world the Hamburgers are typically a dish of fast food restaurants. The hamburgers usually are largely made in plants and frozen for delivery to the site. Hamburgers served in major fast food establishments. These kind hamburgers are lean and of equal thickness, which is opposite to the conventional American hamburger prepared in homes and conventional restaurants. Traditional hamburgers are thicker and prepared by hand from ground beef. Majority of the American hamburgers are oval in shape, but square hamburgers are sold by fast-food firms like Wendy’‘s. Mostly hamburgers in food stalls are cooked on a flat-top, but some companies, like Burger King use a flame gas cooking method. Hamburgers may be categorised as rare in few conventional American restaurants, but often hamburgers are served medium-well or well-done as precautionary food methods. This option is not usually offered by fast food restaurants. Big Mac is one of the world’‘s most opted hamburgers. Many of the famous fast food chains like the A&W, Culver’‘s, Five Guys, Fatburger, Cook Out, Carl’‘s Jr./Hardee’‘s chain, Wendy’‘s (known for their square patties), Smashburger and Sonic Burger King (also known as Hungry Jack’‘s in Australia), Lick’‘s Homeburger, Shake Shack, Whataburger, Jack in the Box, In-N-Out Burger, Harvey’‘s, Vera’‘s, Burgerville, Back Yard Burgers, and Roy Rogers, also depend mostly on hamburger sales. Middle-berth restaurant style diversity of hamburgers is the forte of food chains like Fuddruckers and Red Robin. Patties are also made from constituents other than beef. A chicken burger is got from ground chicken meat, an ostrich burger is obtained from ground seasoned ostrich and a buffalo burger is made from meat from a bison. Boneless and skinless meat of chicken makes a chicken burger. It was found by Chick-fil-A in 1946 and it has turned out into a famous American food preference. Lots of ways are there to make the breast of the chicken. It can be made by beating and frying the breast or by putting the breast on a grill. Chicken breast can also be preserved in teriyaki or basted in barbeque sauce. Burgers have become the preferred food by people all over the world including countries like Australia, Canada, New Zealand and England. As is widely known, burgers have nearly become the staple diet of a large number of families not just in the United States but as mentioned nearly every part of the world. The unique combination of the patty with the bun and the innumerable varieties of dressings used has led to the creation of a wide variety of burgers and thousands of burger outlets in most of the major developing countries. The ease of access and the immediacy of the fulfilment that a good burger offers, its patrons is yet another reason for its wide spread consumption and sustenance through the test of time. There already are thousands of varieties of burgers with each one unique in their own way and with constant innovation and the craving for new taste there will be newer types of burgers which has now been established as one f the fastest moving cuisines in both the commercial and residential walks of life.
